Nantucket Affordable Housing Status Update
Making shelter affordable rallied Nantucket to action in recent years. To date, Town Meeting voters have awarded over $84 million to meet this challenge. While this is a lot of money, this is believed to be a $1.4 billion problem. Let’s take a look at the current strategy.
Median Family Income Increases by 12.3%
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) updated Nantucket County’s median family income to $153,100, an increase of 12.3% over last year.

The largest affordable housing investment in state history is currently moving through the legislature. Governor Healey and her administration are prioritizing access to housing, as drafted their Affordable Homes Act.
Honeysuckle Progress update
Progress continues on Honeysuckle Drive at the 3-BR homeownership opportunities we currently have under construction. Our goal for this project is to create new stable housing opportunities, permanently designated for middle-income households residing on Nantucket year-round.
